Investment Objective/Strategy
The Acuity High Income Class is designed to provide investors with a stable, predictable monthly income while emphasizing preservation of capital. A core fund for asset diversification, investing in a balance between the growth potential of dividend paying equity securities and the stability and income generation of fixed income instruments.
The Portfolio Advisor, Acuity Investment Management Inc., employs a diversified portfolio of primarily fixed-income securities, dividend-paying common and preferred shares, and income trusts to provide a high level of income. Selection will emphasize securities with the ability to sustain payouts for a reasonable period of time, and that are favourably priced. The Portfolio Advisor decides on the mix of the fund's assets in equity and fixed income securities within the context of a longer-term market view. This involves an analysis of the economy, the interest rate environment, the financial characteristics and management of each company in the Fund.
